NYU in Abu Dhabi is freaking me out. It's a little weird that someone could get a degree from New York University without leaving the United Arab Emirates. Higher on the WTF scale, there's the fact the UAE is governed partly by Islamic law, and "homosexual acts" are a crime that could earn you prison time or a regimen of forced hormone injections.

6/25/08 -- The New York State Education Department's Board of Regents gave the NYU-Polytechnic merger its approval on Tuesday at its June board meeting - the final approval the deal needed to go forth. NYU will now effectively own Polytechnic University, a Brooklyn engineering school, which will be renamed the Polytechnic Institute of New York University.

A shot was fired in the McDonald's on 40th and Walnut streets the evening of June 28.
Though no one was injured, two men were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
At about 5:30 p.m., police say that a male customer got into an argument with a McDonald's employee.

If the title of a film is named after a date in history, shouldn't it be a historically accurate story? The crew of 10,000 BC obviously didn't think so and thus didn't care enough to check up on their facts.
Historians say that horses or 'four legged demons' as so called by Old Mother, were not domesticated until as late as 4,000BC.

Max Brindle, a freshman in the LeBow College of business and a member of Drexel's lacrosse team, died the morning of June 18 after a bicycling accident in his hometown, Wayne, Pa.
Brindle, 20, was riding his bicycle when it crashed into the back of a car, according to the Daily News.

Last Saturday, Penn mourned the death of Bruce Montgomery, 44-year Penn Glee Club director and long-time member of the Penn community.
Montgomery - or "Monty", as many called him - retired in 2000 after 50 years of service to the University.
He was an active participant in the Glee Club, Penn Singers, Mask and Wig, Penn Band and other Penn performing arts groups, even after his retirement, right up until his death at the age of 81.
